Hexagram 62 of 64 · King Wen sequence
小过 · xiǎo guò
Thunder above the mountain: the flying bird bringing the message — a time for small excess, small down, not great up.
The flying bird comes down with a message: Small Excess is the hexagram of a season for slight overcorrection — small things done with a margin (small down, small up), because the moment rewards precision over grandeur.
The counsel is scoped with care: small things may be exceeded — attention to detail, a little extra care, a touch more preparation. Great things may not. The bird should not try to soar; it should come down bringing the message. Overdo the small. Underdo the grand. This too is timing.
