Hexagram 13 of 64 · King Wen sequence

Heaven above fire: fellowship in the open field — community built on something shared, not something closed.
Fire climbs toward heaven: people gather around a shared light in the open, not behind walls. Fellowship is the hexagram of alliance in the public square — and of the test every real community eventually faces.
The test is stated with unusual honesty: fellowship limited to your own clan is regret. The groups that last are the ones that can disagree with their own kind without fracturing, and stay open precisely when it would be easier to close ranks.
